PhD Candidate Charles Fogelman Receives NSF Award and Goodman Fellowship for Dissertation Work in Lesotho

Ph.D. candidate Charles Fogelman, working with his graduate advisor/principal investigator Dr. Tom Bassett, has been awarded the Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant (DDRI) from the National Science Foundation.

Fogelman has also received several awards from the University of Illinois Center for Women and Gender in Global Perspectives, including the Goodman Fellowship. He will return to Lesotho for the Spring and Summer 2014 terms to continue his dissertation fieldwork, interviewing women and village chiefs to gain perspective on gendered land access in the country.
