Luis Alfonso Escobedo Paredes

Originally from Lima, Luis is a graduate student in the Department of Geography and is currently a Research Assistant in the Statistics, GIS, Data and Survey Research Team at ATLAS. 

His research interests are regionally focused in Peru, and are in the line of Urban Economic Geography. Specifically, Luis is interested in (a) Agglomeration economies, (b) Violent and non-violent crime incidence and its effects on the urban quality of life, (c) Spatial competition of business, and finally (d) Public services accessibility.

Luis' work experience includes lecturing, professional consulting and applied economic research. He enjoys playing soccer with the greatest team in Illinois: United FC. Luis also like to work with the Peruvian community in Champaign through the Association of Peruvian student in which he serves as the President.
